How we review local business information, what our verification labels mean, and our commitments to Cherokee County residents.
We do not use a single, ambiguous "Verified" stamp to mean all things. Instead, we use clear, explicit labels that reflect exactly what was checked and when:
Identity, business operating name, primary contact phone number, and official website have been checked against active public records.
Physical facility, commercial office, or stated service area verified against commercial mapping and Secretary of State entity records.
Applicable professional or trade license verified active in official state databases (e.g., Georgia Secretary of State Professional Licensing Boards).
Detailed service lists, operational hours, portfolio imagery, and self-reported insurance coverage supplied directly by the business and not independently audited.

We Do Not Sell Higher Placement in Directory Results: Businesses cannot buy a higher ranking in ordinary directory search or category lists. Placement order is determined by directory relevance and alphabetical or categorical organization.
Featured Placements: When a business is featured in a curated slider or homepage spotlight, it is selected for editorial, community interest, or design prominence.
Commercial Relationship Disclosure: When Local Cherokee, its operators, or affiliated services (such as DeepLocal) maintain a commercial, marketing, or facility hosting relationship with a listed company, listing information is maintained separately from commercial agreements, and material relationships are disclosed.
User Data & Privacy: We do not sell consumer phone numbers, contact inquiries, or search data to lead brokers or third-party marketing networks.
Directory Role: Local Cherokee is an independent local directory and community information platform. We are not a government agency, licensing board, insurance underwriter, or trade association.
Verification Limitations: Business information changes frequently. While we review records periodically, we cannot guarantee continuous active insurance, real-time license standing, or the quality of services delivered by third-party businesses. Users must perform their own due diligence before entering into contracts or agreements.
